KOREA: I= Saein, U=Unsung, S=Samick, P or R=PeerlessĬHINA: DW=DeaWon, EA=Gibson/QingDao, EE=Gibson/QingDao, MC=Muse, SJ=SaeJung, Z=ZaozhuangSaehan, BW=ChinaĬlick to expand.I think you are right on the money with the EE guitar being from Gibsons plant in Qing Dao, China. So, mine is R05xxxxxx = made in 2005 in the Peerless plant. If you are interested, look for serial numbers that start with P or R=Peerless S=Samick, the two numbers that follow are the year. The fit and finish on my pearl Casino is amazing for the $500 price tag. I searched out a Casino made in Korea in 2005 in the Peerless plant (considered the best of the four Korean plants they were made in - Samick was also very good). While still good guitars, initially, there had been reports of some production inconsistencies as they worked out the kinks in Gibson's new Chinese plants. The Koreans were generally better crafted. In the mid 2000's they were made in Korea. You might consider looking for a used Casino.
